Global Culture Council
In 2009, we established a Global Culture Council (GCC) to improve and enhance business culture. This is a non-hierarchical group with representatives from every region and across many business units. GCC members focus on continuing to make First State Investments a positive place to work for employees, but also to support the leadership and growth of our business.
An initiative that came directly from the GCC was to increase our links to the communities in which we live and operate. As such, we have now created a charitable foundation, the First Foundation. The principal activity of the First Foundation is to select the charities to which our global firm donates from those nominated by our staff. A key component of this Foundation is encouraging our staff to give back to their communities or charitable causes that they are passionate about, by supporting them with a volunteering policy and matching donations for funds raised.
Established in 2012, the First Foundation aims to make a difference to the local communities in which our staff live and work through promoting charitable time and giving in the areas of Education, Environment and Social Welfare.
